About the Author
Rev. Kenneth Erwin Hagin was born on Aug. 20, 1917, in McKinney, Texas. Rev. Hagin was sickly as a child, suffering from a deformed heart and an incurable blood disease. He was not expected to live and became bedfast at age 15. In April 1933 during a dramatic conversion experience, he reported dying three times in 10 minutes, each time seeing the horrors of hell and then returning to life.

In August 1934, Rev. Hagin was miraculously healed, raised off a deathbed by the power of God and the revelation of faith in God’s Word. Jesus appeared to Rev. Hagin eight times over the next several years in visions that changed the course of his ministry. In 1967, he began a regular radio broadcast that continues today as Rhema for Today.

In 1968, Rev. Hagin published the first issues of The Word of Faith magazine, which now has a monthly circulation of more than 300,000. The publishing outreach he founded, Faith Library Publications, has circulated worldwide more than 65 million copies of books by Rev. Hagin, Rev. Kenneth W. Hagin, and several other authors. Faith Library Publications also has produced more than 9 million audio teaching CDs.

In Depth Profile
Alan Pateman is a recognized author, public speaker, an influential leader. He was born in Dorking, UK on January 27th 1954; dedicated by both mother and priest to God, after it appeared he would die as a baby. Having recovered Alan grew from being the weakest of his family to the strongest of 5 boys. Having dedicated most of his formative years to sports, running, body building and martial arts Alan remained totally unaware that his life had already been dedicated to God! But in the course of time God made His claim on that early dedication and brought Alan to a place of radical conversion and called him to a world wide ministry. In his first encounter with the Holy Spirit Alan rose from the floor a radically changed man! His life would never be the same...

Alan responded to the call on his life and began to move in the power of the Holy Spirit directly. Everywhere Alan went he would see people saved, healed and delivered! There was much movement of the power of the Holy Spirit right from the early days of his ministry. Even before he attended Bible College; where he nearly got kicked out because the leaders failed to believe in deliverance! Nevertheless when some students were found manifesting and they did not know what to do with them they called for Alan! As a result of this happening on a consistent basis the Bible College soon acknowledged the anointing on his life and accepted him on staff!

Although the power of God was constant to pray for others, Alan was also called to preach. And being illiterate he agonized for years before preaching, yet at every call to preach or share testimony he would obey the Spirit of God. It was at the age of 27 before Alan could adequately read or write but this was no hindrance to God! And from this very humble beginning the Lord has raised Dr. Alan up as a highly recommended leader around the world today. The apostolic and prophetic call on his life is authentic and recognized amongst leaders in the Body of Christ globally. And today as a successful author and educator he remains dedicated to training and equipping students and leaders around the nations. Giving life to a prophetic utterance that commissioned him many years ago to raise up an army of warriors for the end times to Glorify God. Warriors of righteousness educated in all things pertaining to God; ready and fully equipped to obey the call on their lives.

Now after spanning the globe, and having been in ministry successfully for 25 years, this rapidly growing ministry of Alan Pateman Ministries International (APMI) continues as a multi-faceted organization working largely with schools, churches, leaders and students. A physical giant, a muscular champion and yet totally illiterate and unable to communicate, God took the young man of zero academic talent and of total educational bankruptcy to make him the leader of leaders that he is today and the professor of his own accredited university! Taking the foolish things to confound the wise, God has constantly made ways where there are no ways for this man and his ministry which continues to take Alan all over the world building, planting, training, educating and equipping the Saints! Today Dr Alan encourages everyone he meets. “…never quit.” There is nothing God can not do! All things are possible.

Today he stands with spiritual weight and stature as an apostle to the nations making decrees and declarations as a prophetic voice with a humble spirit of restoration; often going into those dark and indelicate places that are not popular, comfortable or trendy! In the minds of millions, Jack Van Impe has become "The Walking Bible," but it didn't happen overnight.

Dr. David Allen set the example. His ability to quote the Scriptures in his work as a successful pastor and teacher convinced Jack of the value of memorization. The authority given his ministry by using Bible verses was easy to see. It is not surprising that one of his students decided to build on the same foundation.

Jack was not the first Van Impe impressed by Dr. Allen's memorization techniques. Oscar Van Impe, Dr. Van Impe's father, had also sat through his classes and had been given Scripture memory assignments. The older Van Impe had tackled the project by arranging verses according to Bible doctrine and placing them on index cards that he could carry with him. It was a means of making double use of his time and changed many waiting hours that would otherwise have been wasted into profitable opportunities for storing God's Word in his heart.

When Oscar went to Belgium he left his Bible memory cards behind. It was an oversight, but turned out to be a blessed blunder. Jack found them, very near the time of his return from backsliding and adopted his father's method. He's still using it today.

As a student, Jack found the verses he programmed into his mind were like good friends. They came to his aid when he needed them. Assignments became easier. Witnessing, a natural experience. And, best of all, this army of Bible verses marched into his ordination examination and rescued him from hours of questioning by the ministers present.

When he struggled with the decision concerning the main thrust of his ministry, it was those Bible verses, now leaping into every sermon, that gave him the confidence he was equipped to preach.

During his evangelistic ministry, the power of God's Word has been consistently demonstrated. He attributes the characteristic lasting effect of his crusades to the saturation of his sermons with the Bible. Sinners are confronted with God's Word, rather than tear-jerking stories. The result is conviction and genuine conversions. Christians are moved to revival because they are forced to see themselves as God sees them. And that is what preaching is all about.

Not everyone appreciates memorization. Even among preachers. One Ohio minister once told Jack that his Scripture quoting was leading him into a stilted form of preaching and would hurt his ministry. Today, that homiletical expert is out of the ministry after the church died under his polished preaching, while Dr. Van Impe is still quoting Scripture and reaping the benefits of its power.
